Happy New Year! I hope that you all had a great holiday season and are looking forward to a fresh start to a new year. I am excited to start off a new year in crafting. I have so many projects that I want to do and can't wait to get started on them all. I am going to gear towards some more home decor items and also some actual layouts too. I got away from that when I got into card making but I have some really special pictures that I would love to do layouts with and then frame them to hang around the house. I hope that you will stop by often and see my progress. I wish you all health and happiness in the new year!

Big Old Thank You

This is a Thank You card that I made for my wonderful friend and mentor,

Kristin who is the site owner at paper Therapy. I made this to thank her

for a very special Christmas gift. Ironically the day I am posting it,

she has made an announcement to close the doors at

Paper Therapy to pursue all of the amazing opportunities that

have opened for her in the crafting world. So I post this now as

as double thank you to her for all that she has done for so

many of us at Paper Therapy. I wouldn't be where I am

without her. Tons of luck Kristin! Love you girl!

Post It Note Holder and Matching Box of Refills

I made these as part of a neighbor's Christmas gift.

It was my first attempt at making the matching box

to hold extra Post-It notes. I was pleasantly surprised

by how easy it was and the end result is a great

little desk set. The template for this can be found

A Homey Christmas Touch

I saw this saying somewhere and knew I just HAD

to use it somewhere in my country cozy house

for Christmas. I used an old 3x5 wooden frame and just

roughed it up with some sand paper. Then I printed the

saying on my computer, added the berry vine from

my digi collection and added a few embellishments

to the frame. Really simple and FREE! Woo-Hoo!

It found a home nestled by my 2 ft tree

on my kitchen island that is decorated with

cookie cutters, kitchen utensils and

gingerbread men.

Bucket of Warmth!

This is a bucket that I altered for a Christmas

swap over at Paper Therapy. The first picture shows the

front and the second shows the back. I filled it up with

all of the makings for hot chocolate, right down to chocolate

chips for extra yumminess! My swap partner really loved it.

This is another very fun and inexpensive way to give a

great gift for any occasion. They are great for baby

showers filled with all the little gadgets babies need.

Countdown to Christmas

This is an advent calendar that I made for my bestie - Kate.

It was a really fun project to make.

The box was premade with a template for the drawer

fronts. Then I just used some embellishments

to decorate the drawers a bit more.

The ribbon I found with the numbers on

it was perfect for this project plus Kate loved it

so it was a hit!

Christmas Goodies Jar

This is one of the jars that I made and filled

with goodies for my neighbors. I love this paper so much.

I took a picture of the back of the jar so you can see the paper better.

The neighbors loved them and they are a great gift

to keep in mind for any occasion. They are easy and inexpensive to
make and so much fun too.

Sister's Birthday Gift

So all crafters know that making handmade gifts

is always something very special. We do it with the hopes

of really touching the heart of the recipient.

If we are lucky, every once in a while we are

able to achieve that goal beyond our expectations.

When we do there is a sense of satisfaction like

no other. I was lucky enough to have that happen

twice this year. Once with my step-father's gift and

again with this gift for my sister's birthday.

Her reaction was priceless, knowing that she was

feeling exactly what I felt when looking back at

our childhood together and how much we mean

to each other today.

How sweet it is!!

Totally Bewitching

This is a "fluffed up" version of the gift card

that I made for the Halloween Card Kit Swap at Paper Therapy.

I can't take all of the credit on this one though. I lifted it from

this month's Cricut magazine and just added a few of my

own touches. It was my 1st attempt at sewing on a card,

using acrylic paint to distress and using Glimmer Mist on

an entire card as opposed to just pieces of one.

Of course, the gold Glimmer Mist shows up better

off camera than on but I'm happy with it. I will be

sewing more and definetely using paint

to distress again.

Happy Vintage Halloween

This is a card that I made using one of many vintage

Halloween images I got last year and also some

of the stuff from our Halloween Card Kit Swap

over at Paper Therapy. I love that the pattern

on the paper looks like the wind is stirring up

the leaves. Perfectly fall-like!

Just a small gift card that I made to include

with the Halloween Card Kits that I made for the swap

over at Paper Therapy. We had a great time with
that swap. We had to use what was in our stash
and not buy anything new. We all loved that
and loved sharing of stash with everyone
else. I received some amazing items!
Stop in sometime. Its a great place to play!

OWH Christmas Card Blog Hop Card

This is the card that I made for the Blog Hop for

Operation Write Home. For those of you who aren't familiar

with them, they are an organization that collects handmade

cards from crafters and sends them to our troops overseas

so that they can send cards (free of charge) to their families.

Thinking of You Card

I made this card for a close friend who

I have known since childhood.

It was my first time using Dazzles,

which are the brass details and

I love them. I will be using more

of these for sure.

Framed Clip Board

This was a fun project to do.

It's chicken wire stapled to the back

of a frame with the glass taken out.

Then you can clip anything you want to it.

I've seen a few of these done for offices

with containers for supplies clipped to them

and also for kitchens with recipes, shopping

lists, coupons, etc. I did mine with a country

twist to fit my home decor.

Just Because Card for a very special person in my world

I made this card for another very special friend that I met

at Paper Therapy. Without her help and encouragment

this blog would not be here right now.
Not only has she been an inspiration

and someone to learn this craft with,
but she has been an amazing friend

through the good and the not so good. She is always there for

anything and everything and without a doubt- my soul sister.

Birthday Card for a very special friend and mentor

I made it for my friend Kristin who is site owner of Paper Therapy.

She was my 1st crafty friend and has been an incredible source of

inspiration and learning.
Mostly, she has become a very important part of my life.

Without her input, I would not be the crafty girl that I am today.
Without Paper Therapy,
I would not have the amazing friendships that I have.

Printer's Tray Housewarming/Anniversary Gift

This was my first attempt at a Printer's Tray

as a Housewarming/Anniversary gift for

my niece and her husband.

The lighting washed out some of the color on

the left side of the picture but you get the idea.

I loosely copied the example that 7 Gypsies
had on the package but added my own twists.
I see many more of these in my future.

I had a blast with it and was happy with the results.

Can't wait to try one with more dividers!

Flower Pot Card & Matching Envelope

a while back but I never got around to making one

until my Mom's bday this year.

Double Hinged Photo Layout

Mailbox Housewarming Gift

I filled the mailbox with three Yankee votives

and a votive holder. I have made a few of

these are they are always a hit.

Love how the Cricut did such a great job
